The Revolution and War of Independence in 1848-1849 was one of the most significant events of Hungarian history. The 15th of March is a national holiday, and marks the Day of the Hungarian Press as well. The very first uncensored press was printed on this day by the ‘Youth of March’, the young leaders of the revolution. Pilvaker makes sure to put up a worthy show every year to celebrate this along with Hungarian poetry, as most leaders were poets or novelists supporting the cause of the revolution in their works. This video was shot for Pilvaker 2019 as a remake of the poem ‘Március Ifjak’ (Youth of March) by Sándor Petőfi, performed by top Hungarian pop-rock artists.
